George and Irina Foundation
The George & Irina Schaeffer Foundation was created in 2009 with the simple mission of giving back. This endeavor has blossomed into gifts touching a wide range of community needs through scholarships, student financial aid services, medical research, humanitarian projects, and educational efforts.
George Shaeffer and his wife Irina are dedicated philanthropists who prioritize offering help to those who need it most. George and Irina steer the foundation’s efforts from their home base in Boca Raton, Florida, and offer support via millions of dollars of donations to organizations worldwide, including the American Heart Association, the Leukemia Research Foundation, and the National Lung Association.
While George and Irina find great fulfillment in providing assistance to those in need, they’re also driven to help brighten and enhance the world. That’s why they’re so dedicated to seeing the foundation also make regular donations to universities, Jewish cultural organizations, music conservatories, and hospitals.
Even though the foundation is a personal passion for George and Irina, their efforts have garnered recognition. In 2012, George was the recipient of the City of Hope Cancer Center’s most prestigious honor, the Spirit of Life Award, where he was recognized for his compassion, dedication, and generosity to important charitable causes.
